Colin Rand Kaepernick is an American civil rights activist and former football midfielder. He played six seasons for the San Francisco 49ers in the National Football League. As a political activist, he knelt down singing the national anthem at the start of NFL games to protest police brutality and racial inequality in the United States. Kaepernick played college football for the Nevada Wolf Pack, where he was honored as the West Athletics Conference offensive player twice and became the only player in NCAA Division I FBS history to rack up 10,000 yards and 4000 meters in the quarry.
